Useful Links

In no particular order here are some links to other bloggers and various really useful online resources.

I'm still building this up as I remember the various things I have used over the years so if you think I have missed something then please shout.

Blogs / Vlogs

  • Miss Jen Grieves - Wonderfully quirky, always entertaining and often very thought provoking. Jen's unique view on the world at large and living with diabetes is always refreshing and always brightens the day when she releases new content.
  • Type1Bri - All round great guy and the first person I met out in the wild. Great blog about starting out and also transitioning to pumping. Along with Ewelina, Bri also organises regular informal meetups in various drinking establishments around London, see http://www.t1dlondonmeetups.co.uk/. If you can get to London for the day it is always worth it!
  • Diabeticgoodbaking - The lovely Ewelina has perfected some absolutely stunning recipes end of story. Great for low carb diets without having to miss out on the more indulgent things.
  • Diabettech - Tim does some amazing posts which are absolutely chock full of technical details. Not for the faint hearted as he clearly puts incredible amounts of work into the research he does. A great resource if you are thinking of trying to get started with OpenAPS.
  • Adrian Long - The ultimate FreeStyle Libre advocate, #diaword inventor extraordinaire and general all round nice guy. In his own words Adrian "doesn't like to make a fuss" and he seems to treat living with diabetes much the same.

Useful sites / forums

  • https://www.t1resources.uk/ - Your one stop shop for information on almost anything diabetes. Great site that does exactly what it says on the tin.
  • https://www.bertieonline.org.uk/ - An absolute must for anyone that is still lost about how to manage their diabetes. If you are struggling to do a DAFNE course due to availability or time off work this is a brilliant place to start.
  • http://www.dafne.uk.com/ - As mentioned above DAFNE really is a great course. Arming you with the tools you need to get started while also putting you in a room with some others in the same boat as you.
  • http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/ - A wealth of knowledge and experience at your fingertips, not to mention support and encouragement by the bucket load.
